Experience

I earned a Bachelor's of Science degree from Southern Arkansas University. Although I began my undergraduate studies majoring in chemistry due in part to my strong math and science background, I wanted a career that focused more on people. Pursuing that career led me to earn my teaching certification from Texas Teachers. Prior to becoming an educator, I tutored math, chemistry, and physics, helping students overcome mental blocks that prevented them from believing they were able to understand those subjects. I have since continued tutoring students, shifting my focus to helping students achieve their goals on standardized tests, but maintaining the approach of removing the obstacles students built that prevented them from reaching their potential. As I helped students prepare for tests, I always made sure to return some of the fun that learning should entail.
